MB Star C3 DAS Fault (1.1)-1.501.9504 (Solved)
Fault (1.1)-1.501.9504
Initialization of diagnosis multiplexer failed. Possible causes: The link between the diagnosis multiplexer and the diagnostic socket is interrupted. The link between the diagnosis multiplexer and the diagnostic unit is interrupted. The voltage supply at the diagnostic socket (circuit 30 and (or) circuit 31) is faulty.
I have had a Mercedes diagnostic machineMB STAR C3for a while and i decided to try and make it work, but every time i try to communicate with the car i get an error message saying :
Fault (1.1)-1.501.9504
Initialization of diagnosis multiplexer failed. Possible causes: The link between the diagnosis multiplexer and the diagnostic socket is interrupted. The link between the diagnosis multiplexer and the diagnostic unit is interrupted. The voltage supply at the diagnostic socket (circuit 30 and (or) circuit 31) is faulty.
Error codes analysis:
error code 95xx: C3 mux settings is committed
error code 9551: means no C3 mux is connected
error code 9504:meansStarC3is connected and error in muxerror code 9500: means C3 is connected but error in COM settings to COM2
error code 99xx: means C4 mux settings is committed
So the error is 9504 means mux is read by software and mux is burned
error code 9551: means no C3 mux is connected

error code 99xx: means C4 mux settings is committed
So the error is 9504 means mux is read by software and mux is burned
But C3 mux is working on 3 main communication objects:
1- CanBus
2- K-line
3- L-line
your mux may still work if one circuit is burned like CanBus circuit burned but still you have other 2 working on K-line and L-line

Detailed possibilities of unsuccessful communication:
1 COM port setup improperly or broken COM serial on the laptop
2 New models that old STAR C3 cannot support
3 Something wrong with C3 diagnostic mux
4 Something wrong with cables
Thus, MBSTARTOOL advice is to check your mux on other laptop, OR you may find your COM serial on your laptop is broken or do opposite check other mux on your laptop to find what is wrong. if all is ok, that is two possible occasions:
1 the model cannot not be supported by Star c3 and you should buySD connect c4
2 the software can not run ok and you can try newV2016.5 MB Star C3 Software

Problem:
I have installed05.2016 XDOSon Win7 32bit, everything were ok during installation and after, but when i tried to connect my sd connect via Lan i got message like on photo that parameters are incorrect. I have reinstalled XDOS again and got the same message, then i tried to install on 64-bit system and this time everything works. What could be the reason?

Change your computer name with word A - Z , i think your computer name with Russian Word,
after change computer name, reboot PC..
All will be fine..
Result:
It worked. 2016.05 Xentry now runs no problem.

how to solve Xentry error 2221-45 No access authorization?
One of customer had the Xentryerror 2221-45 No access authorization when running MercedesMB SD Connect C42016.07V Xentry diagnostic software. Here is the final solution provided by mbstarhsop.com engineer.
Problem:
（2221-45） No access authorization forXENTRYDiagnostic was found on the server. You must contact the User Help Disk.
Solution:

MB SD C4 Device not connection solution

Solution:
You are required to update the MB SD C4 firmware follow the guide here:
He did follow the solution but still had the file for software update error
The problem is that the names are wrong in file "SDconnectToolkit", you need to correct them as:
Update_automatic , Update_manual ; Update_Special

How to solve MB SD C4 HTT-WIN failed to communicate

I recently got aMB SD Connect C4clone (a low quality one by its looks)
The multiplexerI got shipped with the following firmware:

When I tried to use the mux on this firmware in 03.2014 XENTRY, I was not able to connect to the car and kept getting errors. So I watched webmaster's SD connect videos and renamed the 3 update folders in C:\Program Files\SDconnect Toolkit and it worked! XENTRY was working well.
The problem was when I was unable to get HHT-WIN to work. After reading around on forums, I sawthis post (post #5)
- and realized that renaming the update folders may be the cause of HHTWIN not working.
A this point, I thought of using webmaster's method to update the mux and rename back the update folders to original name.
Before updating the mux, I wanted to rename back the update folders to original and open HHTWIN through DAS standalone and test if it works - (this is because I thought that only XENTRY would attempt to install updates to the mux (which might not be safe as using webmasters method to update is safest)
So I renamed back the update folders to original names and restarted the PC and mux. I opened HHTWin through DAS standalone and surprise surprise, it updated the mux after opening HHTWin:
The update happened even though I had not inserted any batteries in the SD connect! After the update, the mux rebooted and HHTWin was working perfect!

Now I seem to recall this may be how my HQmultiplexergot updated to latest firmware (by using HHTWin in 3.2014 XENTRY), although at that time I did not know aboutMB SD C4firmware, so I may not have noticed.

Initialization of the EPC Database Has Failed Solution
Here is the customer solution to MB Star diagnosis

Problem:
Does anyone know how to resolve the following error: "initialization of the epc database has failed" ?
for EPC 2.2016 (downloaded database)
running on windows 7 ultimate x64
i do everything but all solutions in vain
- downgrade Java version
- kill TBmux32.exe process when i installing ewa
- turn off UAC
-run admin tool "as administrator
Does anyone know how to resolve the following error: "initialization of the epc database has failed" ?

valid keys are provided, but regarding permissions as workshop i dont know this point
I uninstall EWA completely, remove it from windows registry, delete DB folder, restart PC, start installing everything from scratch.. still the same error msg!
Ispentsome time in investigating the solution and finally solved the problem with the guidance of MB owner.
Solution:
Look what I did but don't follow yet:
1. Stopped all EPC/WIS/Core/Application services.
2. Renamed E:\db folder to E:\db1
3. I used CleanEWAInstallation.vbs located in the installation DVD\ewa\tools
4. Rebooted.
5. Manually deleted the ewa folder from its installed location (C:\Program Files (x86) in your case).
6. Manually deleted all ewa keys from the registry (It would take less than 10 minutes).
7. Renamed E:\db1 folder back to E:\db. As you see I did NOT delete E:\db folder as it only should be deleted if you are sure that you have corrupted EPC/WIS databases, otherwise it will waste your time copying the ROM files again.
8. Uninstalled Daemon Tool
9. Rebooted
10. Installed Alcohol 120%. (May ask to reboot before completing the installation).
11. Mounted EPC 02.2016 B1 DVD.
12. Installed ewa in C:\Program Files not in C:\Programme as installed before.
13. Added EPC/WIS keys.
14. Installed EPC database. (It will only take seconds as all files already there in the E:\db folder).
15. Tested EPC and working.
16. Installed WIS database. (It will also take only seconds as all files already there in the E:\db folder). It might ask for the EPC b1, use EPC 06.2016 B1 update DVD.
17. Tested WIS and working.
18. UpdateEPCand WIS to version 06.2016.
To your case I suggest that you follow my instructions except step 6 where registry keys are manually deleted. This could cause your operating system to malfunction if you are not sure what you are doing.
Also make sure that you use different ewa folder for installation. I suggest c:\ewa

How to solve DAS Xentry working but WIS not installed solution
I have the problem with WIS standalone installation

Vediamo vs. Xentry/DAS
Mercedes vediamo i's similar in purpose to Xentry but can do far more detailed variant coding, without the need to have an online connection to Daimler AG servers for authorization. In Xentry, variant coding is restricted, and even then once authorization is granted, the coding options are limited in comparison to Vediamo.
Spend some time looking around on the internet for a download link for it, you'll also need to have it activated with your hardware ID, etc.

How to run MB Star XENTRY DAS on Macbook Air
"I have an unusedAirbook from 2010running snow leopard as op sys and equipped as usual witha 112 GB solid state disc, a WIFI and one USB portto the external world. Of course, it is based on the Intel platform.As I love these light and beautifully designed machines, I was thinking about using it for something else then letting it accumulate dust in a drawer. DAS/Xentry came to mind and I spent a weekend to get it up and running.
I needed three attempts:
Like in my PC installations I skipped his step 6 (VBoxService installation). On a PC, I always get two error messages while installing the first of the two DVD's. The first one (no .....getspdir file or similar text) I ignore and a bit later another error would come up saying '...cannot create .../../HHTwin.ini file'. Before acknowledging this error I create a HHTWin dir at the location given in the error message and then I 'yes' to continue the installation. Maybe this is known to experts, I figured it out by coincidence. Without creating the HHTWin, the installation process automatically installs Xentry as well. Creating thesubdir, the installation follows exactly the skdrasher script and needs the extra step for Xentry installation.
This is a user experience of running the entire suite of Mercedes-Benzsd connect c4software XENTRY / DAS on a Macbook air.

First attempt: Update of the machine to the new mountain lion op sys. Then I ran Bootcamp to partition the disc into40Gb for the Mac and approx.70 Gb for Windows. I used Refit to get a comfortable dual boot manager. During installation I realised that the newest version of Bootcamp (part of mountain lion) only supports Win7 and upwards. Thus I continued with Win7 and as the effort to get Xentry running under Win7 was too big and I progressed too slowly, I experimented withWin7 and VMWare running Xentry in a virtual XP machine. This turned out to betoo slowfor my taste but it is probably a reasonable option for a more powerful Mcbook Pro. Someone in the forum has asimilar thing with Xentry/DAS 11/2012 but on win xp thru Parallels desktop on my Macbook Pro and had same error HHTwin.ini but carried on. Then successfully installing WIS 11/2012 and EPC 8/2012 without any problems.And it’s said that his DAS worked well with mercedes w202 cdi220 by SD connect c4 (lan connection).
Second attempt: I loaded the older snow leopard as op sys because its Bootcamp version supports Win XP. I made adual boot with XP, using Refit again, and started to install DAS/Xentry. Third attempt: I went for a XP-only installation, applied the special Mac drivers after the first boot into XP and installedDAS/Xentry 11.2012(the only offline scn coding/programming version without issues)according to the SKdrasher script but with some modifications.
Like in my PC installations I skipped his step 6 (VBoxService installation). On a PC, I always get two error messages while installing the first of the two DVD's. The first one (no .....getspdir file or similar text) I ignore and a bit later another error would come up saying '...cannot create .../../HHTwin.ini file'. Before acknowledging this error I create a HHTWin dir at the location given in the error message and then I 'yes' to continue the installation. Maybe this is known to experts, I figured it out by coincidence. Without creating the HHTWin, the installation process automatically installs Xentry as well. Creating thesubdir, the installation follows exactly the skdrasher script and needs the extra step for Xentry installation.
Now I have a very stylish and compact machine when I work around my cars. Next weekend I will install EPC (electronic parts catalogue) and SD media.â€

How to print Mercedes WIS as print PDF
How much do you know about

Example: If you wish to print out four pages with a scale of 100 %, the printout can be reduced
to two pages if scaled to 50 %. The wiring diagram is then correspondingly smaller on the printout.
On the other hand, a very small wiring diagram can be shown three times larger on the printout
with a scale of 300 %.

Fit To Page -The wiring diagram is scaled in such a way that the entire wiring diagram is printed out on one
page.

Click the little printer sign and then a box opens and you choose parts list or picture, then either print onto paper or as a PDF.
How to setup a portrait or landscape format when print?
After calling the Print Functions using "Document Functions/Print", a default Print option window is opened as well. This is to be used mainly for setting a portrait or landscape format.
The following settings are possible:

The printer driver "HP5SIMX" has been used as an example.
The Print option window may look different depending on the printer driver being used.
An overview of the most important functions:

1Print range -The setting "All" is always active and cannot be changed.
i Restriction to specific pages is set in the "Print Functions" WIS mask and has a limited function
at the present time.
2Properties -Calls the properties for the printer selected.
3Alignment -For setting the paper format desired (portrait or landscape).
i . If individual characters are not printed out as shown on the screen, make sure in the printer properties that True Type fonts have been loaded in the printer as soft font.
. If the entire page is not printed, we recommend you reduce the graphics resolution until the whole page is printed
correctly.
. You must make sure that there are sufficient system resources available for the document and screen print. A graphics printout with a higher resolution may produce better quality pictures but may also lead to system errors
if there are not enough system resources.
. Please make sure of the following when setting a higher resolution:
— The printer has sufficient main memory.
— Workstation/Server have sufficient disk memory for temporary external files.
— The workstation has sufficient main memory/virtual memory to be able to perform the graphics editing.
What should you pay attention to?
Keep in mind the virtualPChas a control panel, just like the original OS, where you select the default printer. Just pick PDF as the default, and you will produce legible PDF's whereever you want to save them. How to install WIS EPC 2015.10 for SD Connect C4

This is a user experience of running the entire suite of Mercedes-Benzsd connect c4software XENTRY / DAS on a Macbook air.

I needed three attempts:
First attempt: Update of the machine to the new mountain lion op sys. Then I ran Bootcamp to partition the disc into40Gb for the Mac and approx.70 Gb for Windows. I used Refit to get a comfortable dual boot manager. During installation I realised that the newest version of Bootcamp (part of mountain lion) only supports Win7 and upwards. Thus I continued with Win7 and as the effort to get Xentry running under Win7 was too big and I progressed too slowly, I experimented withWin7 and VMWare running Xentry in a virtual XP machine. This turned out to betoo slowfor my taste but it is probably a reasonable option for a more powerful Mcbook Pro. Someone in the forum has asimilar thing with Xentry/DAS 11/2012 but on win xp thru Parallels desktop on my Macbook Pro and had same error HHTwin.ini but carried on. Then successfully installing WIS 11/2012 and EPC 8/2012 without any problems.And it’s said that his DAS worked well with mercedes w202 cdi220 by SD connect c4 (lan connection).
Second attempt: I loaded the older snow leopard as op sys because its Bootcamp version supports Win XP. I made adual boot with XP, using Refit again, and started to install DAS/Xentry.
